HazMat/Special OPS Subcommittee

Chief Mike Nugent – BSO Fire

The Special Operations subcommittee meets monthly with the representatives of the four teams within the county along with our Regional partners from Miami Dade and Palm Beach Counties, the FBI, LEPC and occasionally with Broward Health Care Coalition. The committee is responsible with the enhancement of our capabilities to respond by coordinating training schedules throughout the year and planning large scale exercises regionally. The collaborative efforts of the subcommittee provide highly specialized trained personnel in the disciplines of Hazardous Materials, WMD, Technical Rescue, and Urban Search & Rescue throughout the county and the region.

Meetings are held first Wednesday of the month at BSO Fire Station 17 – 2308 SW 42nd St, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33312 at 9:30 am.
